The Martin Luther King, Jr., Commission of Florida, Inc. is currently accepting applications for the Drum Major for Justice Award to be presented each year to a faith based leader during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast.
The recipient of this award will be selected based upon the following criteria:
- Nature of accomplishments (towards Dr. King’s efforts) must be directly related to social justice, passive resistance and deeds to which Dr. King dedicated his life.
- Must have provided extraordinary proof of volunteer (versus financial) efforts.
- Must have been a resident of Alachua County during time of service and service must have been provided within Alachua County.
- Can be inactive during year of induction.
- Can be inducted posthumously.
